Excellent translation requires a nuanced understanding of grammar, but also an artistic freedom to make words born of a particular cultural-historical setting come alive in a very different one. My work strikes this balance to re-create a text that proves faithful to the original and meaningful to contemporary readers.

I can translate any classical Greek or Latin work, such as those of Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Herodotus, Virgil, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, and so on. I’m also well-versed in translating patristic and medieval Latin texts as well as Byzantine Greek texts, whether by authors named, anonymous, or pseudonymous. My professional training includes paleography, meaning that I can read, transcribe, and translate handwritten Greek and Latin texts (i.e., manuscripts).

My professional translations and transcriptions of classical Greek, Latin, and Syriac texts have been published in books, chapters and articles under publishers such as Cambridge UP, Brepols, Peeters, Eerdmans, and others.

I also create original Latin metrical poetry and prose. Please contact me via Fiverr.com if you wish to discuss special requests and pricing.
